    Overview

UPS systems, as core backup power supplies in critical scenarios such as data centers, power plants, medical facilities, and industrial control systems, bear the heavy responsibility of ensuring continuous power supply to critical loads. UPS outputs belong to ungrounded IT power distribution systems. If cable aging, moisture, or insulation damage causes a grounding hazard, while a single grounding fault may not immediately cut off power, a secondary grounding short circuit will directly cause UPS shutdown, interruption of core business operations, and incalculable losses. Traditional insulation monitoring can only issue system alarms and cannot pinpoint the faulty branch. Maintenance requires power outages and circuit-by-circuit troubleshooting, which is time-consuming, high-risk, and severely impacts the reliability of critical power supplies.

Acrel's AIMT series insulation monitoring and fault location products can realize insulation monitoring and fault location of UPS AC/DC IT power distribution systems, building a solid safety barrier for UPS power supply lines.

    Insulation Monitoring Function

24-hour online monitoring for early warning of potential hazards: Continuous 24-hour monitoring of the UPS power distribution system's insulation resistance to ground and equivalent capacitance to ground. Supports setting early warning alarm values, triggering alarms at the early stage of insulation degradation. It also features a self-checking function for wiring breaks, preventing monitoring device failure and eliminating insulation faults in their early stages, avoiding emergency repairs before a fault occurs. AC/DC Compatible, Adaptable to Multiple UPS Systems: Supports single-phase, three-phase AC, DC, and AC/DC hybrid IT systems, adaptable to various types of UPS output distribution. It can be used for new UPS system projects or for upgrading existing UPS power distribution systems. Modular design allows for flexible configuration; a single system can support thousands of circuits, meeting the needs of small to large computer rooms and power plant UPS clusters. Uninterrupted and accurate fault location significantly reduces costs and improves efficiency. When an insulation fault occurs in a UPS system, the insulation monitor and fault location accessories work together to quickly pinpoint the specific output circuit with the fault, without power interruption or disconnecting wires one by one. The fault branch number is displayed directly, reducing fault diagnosis time from hours to minutes, lowering maintenance manpower costs, and ensuring UPS power supply continuity. Digital operation and maintenance, integrated into the power monitoring platform. The product has an RS485 communication interface and uses the standard Modbus RTU protocol. Insulation resistance data, alarm information, and SOE event records can be uploaded to the power monitoring and energy management platform, enabling remote centralized monitoring in the duty room. Fault events are completely recorded, facilitating post-event traceability and analysis, and contributing to intelligent operation and maintenance management of UPS power distribution.

    Typical Application Scenarios

Data center server room UPS output power distribution, power plant backup UPS systems, industrial automation central control UPS, uninterruptible power supplies for critical departments in hospitals, rail transit, shore power UPS for ships, and other IT ungrounded power distribution scenarios (images or videos corresponding to the displayed text; materials are subject to e-commerce availability).
